Are you an Ebenezer?

In the very words of Dickens, "the cold within him froze his old features, nipped his pointed nose, made his eyes red, his thin lips blue, and he spoke out shrewdly in his grating voice ..." His very name epitomizes selfish and stingy qualities.

You may personally know a Scrooge. You may work with one. Perhaps you are one? “Bah, humbug!” you say?

Time is a precious resource; generosity its major currency. We are as wealthy as the person in the corner office or the desk next us. How and where we choose to invest our time inside or out of the office is our own decision. So, how do you spend yours?

Self-scrooge-realization is actually fairly easy… Are you selfish or stingy with your time? Do you expect some kind of return for your contributions or assistance? Do you withhold information or do you share your experiences, information, relationships freely? Do you give feedback as a gift and receive it with thanks? Are you genuine about your intentions or honestly, just in it for a near-term or future payback? Sound familiar (in whole or in part)?

Your journey of redemption involves a visit from the Ghost of Roles Past, the Ghost of Situations Present and the Ghost of Relationships Yet-to-Come.

People are attracted to generous people. It’s as simple as that.
